The Let L-410 Turbolet is a twin-engine short-range regional airliner or cargo aircraft manufactured by Let Kunovice. Development for the aircraft commenced in the 1960s with the intention of replacing the Antonov An-2 with a new turboprop airliner. The initial productions were equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6-27 engines, later replaced by the Walter M601 engine once an appropriate Czech engine became available. The L-410 Turbolet features an unpressurized cabin and is constructed in a high-wing, all-metal configuration. Its performance is well-optimized, allowing the L-410 series to land on short and unprepared runways and operate under harsh weather conditions.
