ZLIN Z-242

The original Zlín Z 42 is a single-engine Czechoslovakian trainer aircraft manufactured by Moravan Otrokovice. The Z 42 was developed to fulfill the need for an aerobatic trainer featuring a two-seat configuration. One of the subsequent variants, the Z 142, emerged as the most popular aircraft in the company’s production line. In the late 1980s, further development commenced, involving the installation of a new four-cylinder Lycoming IO-360 engine. The airframe underwent modifications with a wider cowling to accommodate this engine, leading to the designation of the aircraft as the Z 242.

Red Box is delighted to offer an extensive range of ground power and support equipment for this aircraft, encompassing tugs, ground power units, start power units and more, precisely tailored to meet the requirements of the Zlín Z 242 aircraft.

This selection includes the 701D tug, and the RBPS50 continuous power unit, ideal for diagnostic work, pre-flight checks, or continuous powering of equipment during operations without depleting the onboard aircraft batteries. The RB25A is available for starting the aircraft, helping to avoid hot starts. Additionally, we provide a combination of start and continuous power in a single unit for the Zlín Z 242 aircraft in our TC3000 range.
