Bell 206 Lt

The Bell 206 comprises two-bladed, single- and twin-engine helicopters manufactured by Bell Helicopter. Initially conceptualized in response to a United States Navy request on behalf of the Army for a light observation helicopter in October 1960, Bell submitted the D-250 design (proposed as YHO-4) for the competition against 12 other manufacturers. Although not awarded the winning title, Bell proceeded with the production of the aircraft, rebranding it as the Bell 206A JetRanger. The later variant, 206LT TwinRanger, involved a twin-engine conversion of the 206L, incorporating twin Allison 250-C20R turboshaft engines. The TwinRanger was eventually succeeded by the Bell 427.
