The Bell AH-1 Cobra is a single-engine helicopter manufactured by Bell Helicopter, designed specifically for warfare applications. The AH-1 Cobra’s design drew inspiration from Bell’s renowned UH-1 Iroquois, a member of the Huey family, with the prototype being a modified Bell 209. The new AH-1 Cobra was crafted with fixed skids, a wide-chord rotor blade, and the relocation of the tail rotor to the right side of the helicopter for enhanced performance. Additionally, the Cobra featured a plexiglass canopy to reduce overall weight, with further modifications implemented after its entry into service in various countries’ armies.
