Britten-Norman Islander Bn2B-26

The Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander, a light utility and regional airliner, was designed and initially manufactured by Britten-Norman to address the growing demand for an economical, twin-piston-engine aircraft in the aviation market, specifically targeting the expanding commuter airline sector. Survey results indicated a preference for aircraft with larger capacity over increased range or speed, leading Britten-Norman to prioritize payload capacity over these aspects. The Islander continues to be one of the most successful aircraft in Europe, with over 700 Islanders still operational. The later variant BN-2B-26 incorporated the use of more advanced twin Lycoming O-540-E4C5 engines.

Red Box is delighted to provide an extensive range of ground power and support equipment for the Britten-Norman BN-2B-26 aircraft, including tugs, ground power units, start power units and more, meticulously tailored to meet the specific requirements of the BN-2B-26.

Highlighted in our product lineup is  the 709 tug, the RBPS50 continuous power unit, ideal for diagnostic work, pre-flight checks, or continuous powering of equipment during operations without draining the onboard aircraft batteries, and the RB50A for starting the aircraft, aiding in avoiding hot starts. Additionally, we provide a combination of start and continuous power in one unit for the Britten-Norman BN-2B-26 aircraft in our TC3000 range.
