The Cessna 188 AGwagon is a family of light aircraft. The various versions of the 188 included the AG Wagon, AG Pickup, AG Truck and AG Husky, along with the AG carry-all variant of the Cessna 185 Skywagon. The main use for the Cessna 188 series was for agricultural purposes, but many were later bought for use as glider and sailplane tugs.
The Cessna 188 borrowed heavily from the Cessna 180, as the initial version used the same tail cone, fin structure and the same powerplant. The airframe is mostly constructed from aluminum, with the chemical hopper made from fiberglass. The fuselage is semi-monocoque and is lightly pressurized on later models (using the dynamic pressure resulting from the aircraft’s forward speed) to reduce induction of chemicals into the airframe.
