The inaugural model, the Cessna CitationJet (Model 525), was unveiled in 1989 at the NBAA in Atlanta, with its maiden flight occurring in 1991. Key features of the design included a pressurized cabin, supercritical wings, and a T-tail. Propelled by two Williams FJ44 engines, the aircraft featured EFIS avionics. The enhanced CJ2 variant boasted a lengthier fuselage, offering increased passenger comfort in its lavish cabin.
