Embraer E170 (ERJ-170)

The Embraer E-Jet family represents a collection of narrow-body twinjet commercial airliners manufactured by Brazil’s Embraer. Unveiling the EMB 170 at the 1999 Paris Air Show, Embraer opted for an entirely new design, the clean-sheet EMB 170, over further developing the existing ERJ 145 for the creation of the new 70-seat EMB 170 jetliner. Featuring a twin-engine configuration with General Electric CF34-8E powerplants and employing the “double bubble” format for a stand-up cabin, the aircraft was redesignated as the Embraer E170 before entering service in 2002. Regarded as a versatile aircraft, the E170 combines the amenities and luxury of larger regional jets with efficient operation on low-demand routes. It achieved commercial success, especially in the United States, where it became widely utilized as a regional airliner and in various other roles.
