Eurocopter As 332 L1 Super Puma

The Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma, now known as the Airbus Helicopters H215, stands as a twin-engine, medium-size utility helicopter with widespread popularity in military operations. Originally conceived and manufactured by Aérospatiale, later acquired by Eurocopter and presently under Airbus Helicopters, the AS332 Super Puma served as a derivative and successor to Aérospatiale’s SA 330 Puma model. Multiple prototypes were constructed to refine and enhance all aspects of the new aircraft, with the inaugural prototype taking flight in 1978. The Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma is equipped with twin Turbomeca Makila 1A1 turboshaft engines propelling a four-bladed main rotor and a five-bladed tail rotor. The versatile cabin configuration accommodates military tasks, passenger transport, or medical operations, with the AS332 Super Puma emerging as the primary production model in 1980. The AS332 L1 represents a civil variant featuring an extended fuselage and improved cabin interior.
