Eurocopter As 332 L1 Super Puma

The Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma (now Airbus Helicopters H215) is a twin-engine, medium-size utility helicopter, widely popular in military operations. It was originally designed and produced by Aérospatiale, later taken over by Eurocopter, and presently by Airbus Helicopters. The AS332 Super Puma was a derivative and successor of Aérospatiale’s SA 330 Puma model. There were several prototypes built, in order to enhance an refine all features for the new aircraft, the initial protoype flying in 1978 for the first time. The Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma utilises twin Turbomeca Makila 1A1 turboshaft engines, driving a four-bladed main rotor, and five-bladed tail rotor. The cabin space is versatile in configuration, these including military tasks, passenger transport or medical operations. The AS332 Super Puma became the main production model in 1980. The AS332 L1 is a civil variant, with extended fuselage and improved cabin interior.
