The Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) series comprises various variants derived from existing Boeing jet airliners, tailored to serve as luxurious business jets for the corporate aviation market since 1999. Many BBJ models are based on the 737 series, featuring new cabin configurations and minor structural modifications. The inaugural BBJ1 model utilized the 737-700 and 737-800 for its development, incorporating the latter’s wing and landing gear. The redesigned cabin introduced amenities such as a bedroom, shower room, living room, and a dining/conference room. The BBJ1 aircraft emerged as a formidable competitor in the business jet market, surpassing the initially projected 50 models in sales, with 150 units sold by the end of 2019.
