Boeing 757

The Boeing 757 is an American narrow-body airliner designed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, introduced in 1983. Boeing considered two designs to further develop their successful 727 trijet, aiming for improved efficiency and performance. This was achieved through revised aerodynamics and the use of twin powerplants instead of a trijet or quadjet configuration, initially opting for Rolls Royce RB211-535C engines, later substituted with an improved Rolls-Royce model and the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW2037. The 757-200 was the first variant in the family, finding success in various roles, including transatlantic airliner and high-frequency shuttle operations. Boeing also developed a package freighter variant, which entered service in 1987.
