The Cessna 500 Citation I is a small, straight-wing business jet and is the foundation of the Citation model, which was updated in to numerous variants over is production. It has a long, forward fuselage, with a large tail and horizontal tail. Powered by turbofans rather than turbojets and straight wings, the aircraft cruises slower compared to other business jets. A later variant in the Citation I family was the 501 Citaation I/SP was first deliverede to suctomers in 1977, incorporating single-pilot configuration to allow for an additional passenger seat.
