The AW189, a medium-lift, twin-engined helicopter, is manufactured by Leonardo S.p.A., formerly known as the AgustaWestland company. The aircraft’s design originated from the AW149, aiming to develop a civilian variant of its predecessor. The first production model took flight in 2013, featuring a finalized design that includes a five-bladed main rotor, retractable landing gear, and twin General Electric CT7-2E1 turboshaft engines. The AW189 is available in various cabin configurations, boasting the largest cabin in its class.
