The Airbus A350 XWB, a family of wide-body airliners developed by Airbus and optimized for long-range travel, represents a significant milestone in aviation. Originally intended to be based on the A330, Airbus shifted to a clean-sheet design under the XWB name (extra wide body) due to insufficient market support. The A350 XWB features carbon fibre reinforced polymer wing and fuselage construction, a glass cockpit, and is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent engines. With advanced avionics, the A350 was designed to compete with Boeing’s 777 and 787 in the aviation market, with the initial variant designated as A350-900.
