The Beechcraft Baron is a twin-engined light piston aircraft designed and manufactured by Beechcraft, featuring several ongoing variants.
Derived from the Beechcraft Travel Air with specific modifications, the Baron incorporated changes such as replacing the tail with that of the Beechcraft Debonair, streamlining engine nacelles, and integrating six-cylinder engines. It retained the fully swept vertical stabilizer from the Debonair while preserving the four to five-place seating of the Travel Air.
Introduced in 1969, the Baron 58 evolved from the Baron 55, introducing club seating, double aft baggage doors, and a new gross weight of 5,400 lbs. Fuselage lengthening enhanced rear baggage space and provided more comfortable six-place seating compared to the Baron 55 and 56TC.
The present production model, the G58, boasts a glass cockpit, improved passenger cabin, and alterations to selected airframe details.
