Following the success of the Cessna 172, a new design has been introduced in 1980, with the intention to manufacture a retractable landing gear version of the original model, which was designated the name Cessna 172RG Cutlass. The aircraft featured a more powerful, Lycoming O-360-F1A6 engine, offering an increased cruise speed of 140 kn, a significant change from its direct predecessor, the 172Q Cutlass. The Cessna 172RG Cutlass has not gained the anticipated popularity in the private or personal aviation area, however it became widely used as a flight training aircraft.
Red Box is pleased to offer a great range of ground power equipment for this aircraft, including tugs, ground power units, start power units, aviation tools, and more, which are perfectly suited to the requirements of the Cessna 172Rg Cutlass aircraft.
This includes the 701E Tug, which can easily move small aircraft (up to 4,500 lbs) quickly and safely in tight areas, whilst another huge benefit is that it is fully collapsible for compact stowing. We also provide a highly recommended Flight Aid GA tool kit, which comes complete with 47 BAHCO tools. This kit is an essential maintenance companion to pilots, and is designed to assist in minor maintenance tasks.
