Cessna 172Rg Cutlass

Following the success of the Cessna 172, a new design was introduced in 1980 with the aim of creating a retractable landing gear version of the original model, designated the Cessna 172RG Cutlass. This aircraft featured a more potent Lycoming O-360-F1A6 engine, providing an increased cruise speed of 140 knots—a substantial departure from its direct predecessor, the 172Q Cutlass. While the Cessna 172RG Cutlass did not achieve the anticipated popularity in the private or personal aviation sector, it found widespread use as a flight training aircraft.

Red Box is delighted to offer an extensive range of ground power equipment tailored for the Cessna 172RG Cutlass aircraft, including tugs, ground power units, start power units and more. Specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of this aircraft, our offerings include the 701E Tug, capable of swiftly and safely moving small aircraft (up to 4,500 lbs) in confined spaces. Notably, this tug is fully collapsible for convenient storage.
