Announced in 1976, the Cessna Citation II (Model 550) is a light corporate jet, based on the design of the Citation I. The forementioned’s fuselage was extended to facilitate for added seating capacity, as well as for an enhanced luggage compartment. Cessna started productions for the Citation II (Model 550) in 1976, later introducing a single pilot version as well, designated the name Citation II/SP (Model 551). These were produced side-by-side until the next variant, the Citation Bravo was brought to fruition.
