The Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil, also recognized as the Squirrel, AStar, and now Airbus Helicopters H125, stands as a single-engine light utility helicopter. Initially designed and manufactured by Aérospatiale and Eurocopter, it is currently produced by Airbus Helicopters. In the 1970s, Aérospatiale identified a market demand for a civil-oriented aircraft after their Gazelle model experienced limited success in the commercial sector. The company embarked on developing an economical and affordable rotorcraft, focusing on cost-effectiveness in both production and maintenance. The first prototype took flight in 1974. The AS350 B3 emerged as a high-performance variant, featuring the enhanced Turbomeca Arriel 2B engine and advanced avionics.
