he Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil is a single-engine light utility helicopter. Originally designed and manufactured by Aérospatiale and Eurocopter, it is currently produced by Airbus Helicopters. In the 1970s, Aérospatiale recognized the demand for a civil-oriented aircraft, spurred by the limited success of their Gazelle aircraft in the commercial market. Consequently, the company embarked on developing an economical and affordable rotorcraft, with the first prototype taking flight in 1974. The AS350 B2, designed with a higher gross weight and improved controllability, was subsequently manufactured.
