The Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil, also known as Squirrel, AStar, and now Airbus Helicopters H125, stands as a single-engine light utility helicopter. Originating from the design and production efforts of Aérospatiale and Eurocopter, it is currently manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. In the 1970s, Aérospatiale recognized the demand for a civil-oriented aircraft, prompted by the limited success of their Gazelle aircraft in the commercial market. This realization led to the development of an economic and affordable rotorcraft, with the inaugural prototype taking flight in 1974. The AS350 D emerged as a new variant, featuring a Lycoming LTS-101-600 engine, and was marketed in the North American region under the name AStar.
