Gulfstream G100 (Astra SPX)

The Gulfstream G100, formerly recognized as the IAI Astra SPX, stands as a twin-engine business jet crafted by Israel Aerospace Industries and manufactured for Gulfstream Aerospace. Originating in the late 1970s, the Astra was built upon the foundation of the IAI Model 1124 Westwind, incorporating subtle changes and modifications to enhance overall performance and modernize the aircraft. Certification for the IAI Astra was achieved in 1985, leading to deliveries commencing in 1986. Evolution brought forth more robust variants, including the IAI 1125 Astra SPX, equipped with advanced Honeywell TFE-731-40R-200G powerplants. Following Gulfstream Aerospace’s acquisition in 2001, the aircraft underwent a re-designation as the Gulfstream G100 and was marketed under this new name.
