The Mil Mi-17 is a medium twin-turbine transport helicopter, easily identifiable by its port-side tail rotor and dust shields in front of the engine intakes. Evolving from the Mi-8 airframe, it features larger engines, rotors, and transmission, coupled with fuselage enhancements to accommodate heavier loads. Additional variants are available to meet diverse operator requirements.
