Pilatus Pc-6

The Pilatus PC-6 Porter, a single-engined Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) utility aircraft, is a creation of Pilatus Aircraft in Switzerland, with production commencing in the late 1950s. Renowned for its success and extensive use over several decades, the Pilatus PC-6 is a compact utility aircraft with remarkable STOL capabilities. Its versatility has made it highly adaptable for various roles, including float modifications for water landings, customization for parachuting, air medical services, or search and rescue missions. In its initial testing phase, the aircraft underwent trials with different engines, none of which met expectations. Pilatus Aircraft ultimately opted for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engine, which proved to be successful, with the first model powered by this engine taking flight in 1996. After approximately 600 deliveries spanning six decades, Pilatus concluded production in early 2019.
