Sikorsky S-76A

The Sikorsky S-76 Spirit is a medium-sized commercial utility helicopter, manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation since 1977. The Spirit’s design was conceived to serve as a medium-sized corporate transport and support helicopter for oil rigs, marking Sikorsky’s initial venture exclusively for commercial use. The design incorporates twin Rolls Royce (Allison) 250-C30S turboshaft engines driving four-bladed main and tail rotors, along with a retractable landing gear. The inaugural model was designated the S-76A. Sikorsky chose to enhance a number of their initial S-76A models with more powerful engines and modified configurations.
