Airbus A320

The Airbus A320, a narrow-body, turbofan airliner, took its inaugural flight in 1987. Expanding the family, the A320 was followed by the longer A321 and the shorter A319 and A318. With the ability to carry 150 passengers over distances of 5,280 or 3,440 km (2,850 or 1,860 nautical miles) using fuel from wing fuel tanks exclusively, the A320 is equipped with a retractable tricycle landing gear and is powered by two wing pylon-mounted turbofan engines. It boasts a structure composed mainly of composite materials and is renowned for being the first aircraft to feature a fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control system.
