Boeing 707

The Boeing 707 stands as a narrow-body airliner renowned for its long-range capabilities, representing Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ inaugural venture into jetliner production. Often hailed as the trailblazer of the Jet Age, the Boeing 707 played a pivotal role in establishing Boeing C.A. as a prominent manufacturer. The development journey commenced with Boeing’s work on the 367-80 prototype in 1952, culminating in the certification of the first production airliner, the 707-120, in 1958. Notable features include a swept wing design and four podded Pratt & Whitney Canada JT3C-6 engines mounted on the wings. The extended fuselage allowed for increased seating, accommodating up to 189 passengers. The iconic aircraft underwent further developments, solidifying its dominance in the market.
