Comac C919

The Comac C919 stands as a twin-engine narrow-body airliner, meticulously designed and developed by Comac. Currently undergoing flight testing, the initial production deliveries are anticipated in 2021. Commencing its development in 2008, the C919 shares some design features with its competitor, the Airbus A320. While primarily constructed from aluminium alloys, the aircraft incorporates composite materials in various aspects, excluding the supercritical wings. The C919 is expected to integrate advanced avionics, although the choice between powerplants, including the CFM International LEAP-1C and the ACAE CJ-1000A engines, is yet to be confirmed by Comac. Positioned as a formidable competitor to the Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo, the Comac C919 is poised to make a significant impact.
