The Dassault Falcon 50 is a super-midsize long-range business jet, developed and built by Dassault Aviation. The aircraft received certification in 1979, and entered service shortly after. The Falcon 50’s design comprised of a trijet configuration, with the third engine mounted atop of the rear fuselage with an S-duct air intake. The fuselage was derived from the predecessing Falcon 20, however the wings were of a new advanced construction, making the Falcon 50 an ‘area ruled’ aircraft. Dassault had developed the improved Falcon 50EX, first flying in 1996 with the more advanced Honeywell TFE 731-40 engines, and featuring uprated avionics.
