Lockheed L-1011

The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar is a wide-body trijet airliner designed and produced by Lockheed Corporation for medium-to-long-range travel. American Airlines initiated a requirement for a new airliner capable of transcontinental transport with a capacity of over 250 passengers, leading to the competition between Lockheed’s L-1011 and the Douglas DC-10. Lockheed emerged victorious, although American Airlines continued to express considerable interest in the L-1011. Eager to proceed with production, Lockheed incorporated autoland and auto-descend systems into the aircraft. The L-1011 features a trijet configuration, with two Rolls-Royce RB211 engines wing-mounted and one integrated into the tail and fuselage with an S-duct.

Red Box is delighted to provide an extensive range of ground power equipment tailored for this aircraft, including tugs, ground power units, start power units and more, all perfectly suited to the requirements of Lockheed L-1011 aircraft.
