Sikorsky H-92 Superhawk

The Sikorsky S-92 stands as a twin-engine medium-lift helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft, designed for civil utility purposes. Its military counterpart is the Sikorsky H-92. In response to the oil crisis of 1973, gas companies were compelled to explore offshore areas more extensively for oil, creating a demand for a more suitable rotorcraft. The designed aircraft, powered by the robust General Electric CT7-8A engine, featured a four-bladed articulated main rotor with a tapered and angled design for reduced noise and vibration. Drawing inspiration from the Sikorsky S-70 helicopter, the S-92 shared certain aspects such as flight controls. The H-92, serving as the military variant, could be configured for various military missions and operations, including search and rescue or executive transportation.
